What's up with that?

Q: What's up with that scary toy fair that usually takes place in February? Will there be one his year? —Wlliam Conti, Brooklyn Heights

A: Two days before the more standard American International Toy Fair begins on Sunday 12 at the Javits center, the bloody-doll spectacle known as Terrible Toy Fair III kicks off a month long run at CB's 313 Gallery. The Terrible Toy event has grown in popularity since it was first held in 2003 at Williamsburg's smaller Dollhaus Art Gallery, which still sponsors the show. All of the toys, which are created by local artists, are for sale. But before you purchase, say, a bleeding doll inspired by outsider artist Henry Darger's unusual work, remember the event's motto:"A Dollhaus toy is ...unforturnately forever!" —DD
